HF Digital

The NARPNet Digital Net exists to facilitate communication among radio operators in North Alabama and the surrounding states should conventional forms of communication become unavailable.

This net uses the AmRRON style net framework. We are grateful to AmRRON (amrron.com and SEEN (senetwork.us) for the foundation they have laid both nationwide and in the southeast US region.

Check out the NARPNet NCS and Operator Macros for FLDIGI to make the nets easier to use. There are written and video instructions.

We also use 7.091 on 40m.

Net Agenda: Please:

How to Check-in

Early check-ins are welcome after the 10-minute warning and before the net starts. When the net starts, wait until the NCS calls for check-ins or late check-ins. Check-ins are acknowledged in batches. Please do not repeat your check-in if it has already been acknowledged.

To check-in to the net, pls use the following format (no NWOTW):

DE CALLSIGN CALLSIGN / NAME / COUNTY / STATE / any traffic with precedence

For example:

DE L0BNZ L0BNZ / LOBANZ / MADISON / AL / NO TFC

If I had traffic, then instead of "NO TFC", I would indicate how many, and the precedence level, for example: "1 RRR".

How to Send Traffic

Traffic is sent in FLAMP using THOR32. Wait until the NCS calls you to send you traffic. FLMSG is ok also. Then do the following for each piece of traffic:

Please do not change the mode of the net. The NCS will switch modes when appropriate.
